Man Sentenced To 20 Years For Burying Fiancée Alive
A 25-year-old man has been found guilty of the attempted murder of his fiancee.
Marcin Kasprzak, of Penistone Road, Huddersfield, has been sentenced at Leeds Crown Court to 20 years in prison.
On 28 May 2011 Kasprzak attacked bride-to-be Michelina Lewandowska, 27, at their home with a taser then bound, gagged and placed her in a cardboard box. She was then taken to nearby woodland and buried under soil, leaves and an 88lb tree branch.
After about an hour Michelina managed to use her engagement ring to dig and cut herself free.
Kasprzak appeared at the court alongside Patryk Borys, 18, of Rashcliffe Hill Road, Huddersfield, who was cleared of attempted murder.
The men admitted kidnap at a previous hearing.

A man has been charged with attempted murder following an incident in Faversham at the weekend. Kent Police confirmed Lincoln Payne, of no fixed abode, had been charged with robbery, theft and two counts of attempted murder following an incident in Fostall Avenue on Saturday, 30 May.
