Teen Sentenced To Life After Comb Attack
A 16-year-old girl has been sentenced to serve a minimum of 10 years after killing a teenage with an afro comb.
Rebecca Douglas, who was 15 at the time of the incident, stabbed Julie Sherriff, 16, in the head with a pintail comb.
Judge Nicholas Cookes QC said: "There are considerable dangers to wearing a pintail comb in the hair as a fashion accessory. The origins are little more than, 'Look at me, I've got a weapon'."
The attack took place in May 2011 and Douglas was found guilty last month.
