Children Fire Death Arrests Made
Two men have been arrested in connection with a house fire that killed six children in May, according to Derbyshire Police.
The two men, aged 45 and 49, are being questioned over the fire in Victory Road.
Jade Philpott, 10, brothers John, nine, Jack, eight, Jessie, six, and Jayden, five, died in the fire while their brother Duwayne, 13, died three days later.
Mick Philpott, 55, and wife Mairead, 31, are due to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on Thursday to face murder charges.

Heroic Tyne Firemen Honoured
Two Tyne and Wear firefighters are to be recognised for their bravery at a special ceremony today. Andrew Nelson and Allan Richardson will be presented with the Chief Fire Officer's Commendations for brave and meritorious conduct after saving a man's life. The men took part in a dramatic rescue in the early hours of 4 February.

Firefighters launch four-day strike
More than 1,000 firefighters across Merseyside have begun a four-day strike in protest over planned job cuts. Another four-day stoppage is scheduled to begin two hours after the first one ends.

Demolition Work Begins On Philpott House
Demolition work has got underway at the former home of Mick and Mairead Philpott, in which six of their children died in a house fire. A bulldozer is on site and the demolition of 18 Victory Road is underway, Derby City Council have said. The adjoining property, number 20, has already been knocked down.

The trial of the three accused of starting a house fire that killed six children, has heard that they rehearsed the act six weeks earlier. Nottingham Crown Court heard from a witness that the alleged plan was for Mr and Mrs Philpott to run into the road and shout for help.
