Demolition Work Begins On Philpott House
Demolition work has got underway at the former home of Mick and Mairead Philpott, in which six of their children died in a house fire.
A bulldozer is on site and the demolition of 18 Victory Road is underway, Derby City Council have said. The adjoining property, number 20, has already been knocked down.
Mick and Mairead Philpott and Paul Mosley were jailed in April for the manslaughter of six of the Philpott's children, in a fire that was started deliberately.
Jade Philpott, 10, and her brothers John, nine, Jack, eight, Jesse, six, and Jayden, five, died in the blaze in May 2012. Duwayne, 13, died days later in hospital.
It is expected the demolition will take around two weeks to complete and the council have said that new housing will be built of the site.
