HMV Cut 190 Jobs
Some 190 staff have been let go from HMV, across their head office and distribution network, administrators have announced.
Deloitte, appointed to run HMV on 15 January, say no redundancies have been made at the shops and all outlets continue to trade.
The administrators have been in talks with restructuring specialist Hilco about taking over the business.
Hilco bought HMV's debt, a move that could pave the way to taking control.
Eastenders Actor Injured In Car Crash
Former EastEnders actor Dean Gaffney has suffered head injuries in a car crash in Derby.
It is understood the 34-year-old actor was returning home from Wednesday's production of A Murder Is Announced when the accident happened.
His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening and he is recovering at the Royal Derby Hospital.
Police said a car struck the central reservation on the A38 at about 22:45 on Wednesday.
Renaissance Silverware Collection Left To Oxford Museum
A collection of Renaissance silverware worth tens of millions of pounds has been bequeathed to Oxford University's Ashmolean Museum.
The late collector Michael Wellby donated the haul of nearly 500 items, described as the most important gift to a British museum for over a century.
The collection includes a rare lapis lazuli bowl, made by Dutch goldsmith Paulus van Vianen, valued at £3m.
A selection of the objects will go on temporary display from next month.

Poet Seamus Heaney Dies Aged 74
Acclaimed poet and winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature, Seamus Heaney, has died at the age of 74. It is understood that the former teacher-turned-poet, hailed by many and the best Irish poet since Yeats, had been suffering from ill health. Born in Northern Ireland, Heaney moved to Dublin in the 1970s.

£10m ad campaign urges UK to 'Recycle Now'
The UK is being urged to 'Recycle Now', as part of a £10 million multi-media advertising campaign to get householders and businesses to recycle more often. Launched today by the Waste Resources Action Programme (WRAP), with support from Defra, the campaign is the biggest ever effort to highlight the importance of recycling in England.

HMV To Honour Gift Vouchers
HMV will again accept gift vouchers from Tuesday, according to administrators. Deloitte, who took over operations of the store last Tuesday, had previously said that gift cards would not be redeemed in stores. The administrator said it was now able to honour the vouchers following assessment of HMV's financial position.

HMV Appoints Administrator
Over 4000 retail jobs are at risk after HMV announced it has gone into administration. Deloitte will keep the music and DVD chains 239 stores in the UK and the Republic of Ireland open while it assesses the prospects for the business and seeks potential buyers. Trading in HMV shares on the London Stock Exchange has been suspended.
