Police Investigate Primary School Staff
The head teacher and five staff from a primary school in Blackpool have been suspended amid allegations of ill treatment of pupils.
Police are investigating the staff from Revoe Primary School in Blackpool after concerns were raised ahead of last weeks half-term break.
While it is described as a “serious situation”, no child was believed to have come to any harm.
Sarah Riding, cabinet member for education and schools, said the six had been replaced with temporary members of staff and parents had been informed.
"Before half term we were made aware of an issue at Revoe Primary School that raised concerns to us about the professional judgement made by a number of staff in relation to pupil well-being.
"These concerns have led to the suspension of six members of staff while a full investigation is carried out.
"It would not be appropriate to comment further on the nature of the investigation until it has been concluded."

Scottish Education Secretary Michael Russell has visited the town’s Chifunga 1 primary school and the nearby St Daniel Comboni Under-Six Centre to see the work of Mary’s Meals.

A North Somerset primary school teacher has been given an indeterminate public protection order for a catalogue of sexual abuse against young girl pupils in his care. He will only be released when it is safe to do so and this equates to a determinate sentence of 24 years.
