Mick Philpott Denies Involvement In Fatal Fire
The father of six children who died in a house fire has denied starting the blaze at the families Derby home last May.
56-year-old Mick Philpott denies any involvement but has told a court he has suspicions about who started the fire.
He alleges that he and his children had received death threats after the family appeared on ITV's Jeremy Kyle Show.
Philpott, his wife Mairead, 31, and Paul Mosley, 46, deny six counts of manslaughter.
The three are accused of starting the fire in a bid to frame Mr Philpott's former mistress Lisa Willis, 29, who was involved in a custody battle over the four children she shared with him.
Mr Philpott’s claims where made on the first day of the defence case at Nottingham Crown Court.
The case continues.
