Briton Held In Malia Over Fatal Stabbing Of British Tourist

A British tourist has been arrested in Crete over the fatal stabbing of another Briton on the Greek island.

The 19-year-old victim is reported to have died "within minutes of being stabbed" in the early hours of Tuesday outside a bar in Malia.

It is understood that the victim was stabbed in the heart, according to the Guardian.

The suspect, also 19, was among 15 others arrested in connection with a fight, which is believed to have lead to the stabbing.

He is expected to appear before a public prosecutor on Wednesday.

Stabbing victim Abigail Witchalls’ condition is continuing to improve, doctors have said. The 26-year-old, who was left paralysed after being stabbed in the neck in Little Bookham, Surrey, in April, is receiving treatment at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital.

Police Shoot Man Following Stabbing Incident In Hersden
A man has been shot by police after being called to attend an incident in Hersden where a woman was stabbed. Police initially attended the scene at around 11.20pm on Sunday followed by firearms officers and police negotiators. The man and woman, who are members of the same family, are both in a critical condition in hospital.

Malia Stabbing Victim Named
The man fatally stabbed in a fight in Malia has been named as Tyrell Matthews-Burton. It is understood that the 19-year-old was attacked when a fight broke out involving up to 30 British tourists outside a bar on the island of Crete.

Man Arrested In Connection With Taxi Stabbing
An arrest has been made in connection with a woman stabbed to death in a taxi yesterday morning in Birmingham. Police investigating the murder of a 22-year-old victim, who has not been named, have confirmed the arrest of a 28-year-old man. She is believed to have been in a relationship with her attacker, detectives said.
