Two Drown In Ayrshire Reservoir
A 17-year-old boy and 20-year-old man have drowned in a reservoir at Ardrossan, North Ayrshire.
The alarm was raised at around 20:00 when the pair where seen going into the water at Mill Glen Reservoir but failed to resurface.
Police, coastguard and a rescue helicopter were called out to assist the search for the pair.
Their bodies were recovered at around midnight.
Police have said that there is no suspicious circumstance surrounding the deaths.

The body of a man has been discovered by police during a major training exercise in a reservoir near Sheffield. Brian Arnold, 61, from Athersley, Barnsley, was found in Winscar Reservoir, near Penistone, by police and emergency services who were preparing to start a major training exercise.

An electrician employed by East Ayrshire Council died because of failings of his employer, a court heard. At a hearing at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court, last month, East Ayrshire Council pled guilty to a charge under section 2 of the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 and was fined £56,000 the following day.

North Ayrshire Town Suffers 'Serious Flooding'
Firefighters are tackling serious flooding in the North Ayrshire town of Kilbirnie. It is reported that some parts of the town are under up to 1.5m of water, while the local police station has had to be evacuated. The River Garnock burst its banks on Friday morning following severe weather conditions overnight.

Police Launch Murder Investigation In Ayrshire
Police in Ayrshire, Scotland, have launched a murder investigation following the death of an elderly man in the Saltcoats area. The body of Malcolm Ballantyne, 72, was found at his home in Glebe Place at around 1pm on Friday, 21 August. A post-mortem was carried out and police have now said they are treating Mr Ballantyne's death as murder.

The body of 28-year-old Craig Wilcox was found in Dove Stone Reservoir in February, seven weeks after he was last seen. Mr Wilcox was of slim build, around 5ft 10in (1.8m) and was wearing a grey hooded top and blue combat trousers when he was last seen.
