British Women Injured In Acid Attack In Zanzibar
Two British women have been reported as victims of an acid attack on the east African island of Zanaibar.
The victims have been named as Katie Gee and Kirstie Trup, both aged 18. The two young women were on the island working as volunteer teachers.
According to the BBC, police have reported that two men on moped threw acid at the women as they walked through the Unesco World Heritage site of Stone Town. The acid splashed the women's faces, chests and hands.
An investigation has been launched but a motive for the attack is not yet known.
The women volunteered with the charity Art In Tanzania, which is run by Kari Korhonen and two other directors. Mr Korhonen is quoted by the BBC as saying that the, "ladies are OK considering the seriousness of this type of case".

UK sees 20% increase in multiple births over 10 years
Mothers are having 20% more multiple births than they were a decade ago, according to figures released today by the Office for National Statistics (ONS). Statistics have revealed that in 2002, the multiple birth rate was 15 per 1,000 women giving birth, compared with 12.5 in 1992.

Acid Attack Victims Due Back In UK
The two 18-year-old British women injured in an acid attack in Zanzibar are due to arrive back in the UK today. Kirstie Trup and Katie Gee were in the last week of a volunteer teaching job they had taken on the east African island when they had acid thrown at them as they walked through Stone Town.

Women Clergy Attend First Bishops' Meetings
Women clergy are to attend Church of England bishops’ meetings for the first time. It has been reported that at least eight senior women clergy, such as deans and archdeacons, are to participate as non-voting members of the House of Bishops. The Church of England has made the move in response to the defeat of attempts to create women bishops.
