Man Arrested Over Manchester Music School Abuse Claims
Detectives investigating allegations of historical sexual abuse at two music schools in Manchester have arrested a 61-year-old man on suspicion of rape.
A number of allegations of abuse have been made against staff at Chetham's School of Music and the Royal Northern College of Music.
The latest arrest brings the investigations total to four.
The man is suspected of raping three teenagers, aged 16 to 18, between 1980 and 1991 while teaching at Chetham's.
More than 30 woman have come forward to report abuse carried out at the school and it is understood that police are investigating 10 suspected offenders.
Former choirmaster Michael Brewer, 68, was convicted of abusing former pupil Frances Andrade in the 1970s and 1980s.
Ms Andrade is believed to have killed herself after giving evidence in the trial.

£1bn is being unlocked to fund the Department of Education's free school meals commitment. The news, announced by deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg, follows an announcement in September that every child in reception, year 1 and year 2 in state-funded schools will receive a free school lunch.
