200 Estimated Injured In 100 Vehicle Crash
More than 100 vehicles have been involved in a series of crashes in Kent, leaving some 200 people injured.
The crashes, initially reported to involve 40 vehicles but subsequently increased to more than 100, happen in thick fog on the A249 Sheppy crossing at around 07:15 this morning.
It is understood that six people have been reported as suffering serious injuries and five people had to be freed from vehicles by firefighters
The area is expected to remain closed for the whole of today and police have advised motorists to avoid the area.
