Convicted Police Murderer Dale Cregan Moves To Secure Hospital
The man jailed for the murder of two police officers has been moved from Strangeways prison in Manchester to the maximum-security Ashworth Hospital.
30-year-old Dale Cregan was given a whole-life sentence for the murders of PC Fiona Bone and PC Nicola Hughes as well as father and son David and Mark Short.
The two police officers were killed and in a gun and grenade attack after being lured to a house in Greater Manchester following a false report of a burglary.
It is understood that Cregan was moved to the hospital wing of Strangeways on Thursday following a month long hunger strike. He was then transfers to Ashworth Hospital, which is the same facility where Ian Brady is held.

The mother of a child found abandoned in the toilets of an amusement arcade in Southport, has been arrested. The newborn baby was found by staff at Silcock's Amusements in Merseyside, last Thursday. The child is being cared for by staff at Ormskirk Hospital, Lancashire later, who have named her April.

Man killed in Street Clash
A man has died following a street fight in Reading. Another man was seriously injured during the incident that took place in the St Mary’s Butts area of the town at around 4am this morning. Police believe two gangs were involved in the fight. Two men were taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital, where one man later died of his injuries.
