Postal Workers To Be Balloted Over Strike Action
Some 115,000 postal workers are to be balloted over possibly strike against in a dispute over the privatisation of the Royal Mail.
The Communication Workers Unions (CWU) have said that strike action is "certain", warning that it would most likely take place on the day the government plans to push through the privatisation of the 497-year-old postal service.
It is understood that the selling Royal Mail could raise £3 billion. The government have vowed to float half of Royal Mail before the end of October.
The union is calling for a "legally-binding agreement on protections for jobs, terms and conditions – regardless of who owns the company."
