Briton Facing 16 Year Jail Term In Indonesia
A 57-year-old British woman could face 16 years in jail after admitting to trafficking 1.4kg of crystal methamphetamine into Indonesia.
Former police community support officer Andrew Waldeck, from Gloucestershire, was arrested at a hotel in East Java in April.
She had been facing a possible death sentence due to the type and quantity of the drugs involved.
However, prosecutors called for the custodial sentence along with a €200,000 fine.
Waldeck lost an appeal in August and is understood to be pursuing other legal avenues.

A former police officer has admitted to selling information to the newspaper The Sun. According to the BBC, 30-year-old James Bowes is now facing jail after he pleaded guilty to one count of misconduct in public office. Mr Bowes was a police sergeant on the Sussex Police neighbourhood policing team.

A 25-year-old man has appeared in court charged with the "terrorist-realted" murder of an 82-year-old Muslim in Birmingham in April. Ukranian Pavlo Lapshyn is also facing charges in connection with three explosions near mosques in Walsall, Wolverhampton and Tipton.

The UK economy has shown a few signs of improvement in the first three months of this year, the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) has said. The BCC's new Quarterly Economic Survey (QES) released today shows encouraging results for Q1 2012, with most balances recording increases on the last quarter.
