Former Broadmoor Worker Pleads Guilty To Corruption
A 32-year-old man has been given a suspended sentence for passing information to tabloid newspapers.
32-year-old Alan Ostler, of Uxbridge, north-west London, pleaded guilty to misconduct in public office in 2008, when he worked as an assistant technical instructor at the high-security Broadmoor hospital.
He was sentenced to 18 months, suspended, and 150 hours of community work.
Ostler was arrested under the Met's Operation Elveden, which was established to investigate corrupt payments to police and public officials.

Policewoman In Court Over 'Escort' Charges
A Northumbria police officer has appeared in court today following an investigation into prostitution. Victoria Thorne, 28, of Washington, Tyne and Wear, appeared in the dock at Newcastle Magistrates' Court charged with misconduct in public office. She appeared before magistrates along with four people also charged with prostitution offences.

In an unprecedented breach of security at the Palaces of Westminster this morning, Tony Blair was hit on the shoulder by an object containing purple power as he took to the dispatch box during Prime Minister's Questions this morning. Mr Blair was hit on the back by one of three missiles aimed at him from the public gallery.

Body Of Hamzah Khan Released For Burial
The body of Hamzah Khan has been released for burial, almost four years after he died. The four-year-old's mummified body was found in his cot at his home in Bradford in 2011. A subsequent investigation found that he had died of starvation some time in December 2009. The body was released to his father Aftab Khan.

'Mercy Killing' Presenter 'Wasted Police Time'
A BBC presenter who claimed to have smothered his terminally ill lover has received a 90-day suspended sentence for wasting police time. Ray Gosling, 71, from Nottingham, had been charged over the claim, which he made during an interview with Bill Turnbull on BBC Breakfast on February 16.
