Bus Operator To Close A Depot In Wales
Stagecoach, the largest bus operator in Wales, is to close its depot at Brynmawr in the Gwent valleys.
The closure will happen in July, putting 77 jobs at risk.
The company as said further cuts could follow to routes in Caerphilly, Monmouthshire, Rhondda Cynon Taf and Torfaen.
Stagecoach has around 27 million passengers a year and employs around 900 people at seven depots in Wales. It also operates almost 400 vehicles.
South Wales managing director John Gould said: "Sadly it is impossible to continue delivering the same level of services for passengers when we are seeing cut after cut in investment in local bus services.
"The result is that some of our routes are not sustainable and we have to act in order to ensure we can continue to deliver services for customers across the rest of our network over the long-term."
