Inflation At Lowest Rate Since 2009
The inflation rate, as measured by the Consumer Price Index, fell to 1.6% in March, down from 1.7% in February.
New figures from the Office for National Statistics show that the rate has now stayed below the Bank of England target of 2% for three months, and is currently at its lowest since October 2009.
The Retail Price Index measure rate also feel in March to 2.5%, down from 2.7%.

Strong house price rises in January
The UK housing market made a strong start this year, with prices rising by 1.4% - the biggest monthly increase in 18 months - the Nationwide reported. The increase took the annual rate of price growth to 4.4% and put the average price of a UK home at £158,478.
