Actor Bob Hoskins Dies Aged 71
Actor Bob Hoskins has died of pneumonia, aged 71.
He was best known for roles in Who Framed Roger Rabbit and In The Long Good Friday.
He died in hospital on Tuesday with his family by his side.
He retired from acting in 2012 after being diagnosed with Parkinson's disease.
In a statement his family said: "We are devastated by the loss of our beloved Bob.
"Bob died peacefully at hospital last night surrounded by family, following a bout of pneumonia.
"We ask that you respect our privacy during this time and thank you for your messages of love and support."

RMT Threaten Strike Action Over Potential Job Losses
The Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT) union have said that its members will strike if expected job cuts and closures are announced by Transport for London (TfL) on Thursday. According to the union some 3,000 jobs are at risk and hundred of tickets offices face closure as TfL face cuts of about £80 million in the coming year.

BP Profits Slump
BP has reported a sharp fall in profits in the second quarter of the year. This comes after the oil giant was forced to cut the value of a number of its key assets. The replacement cost profit was $238m (£151m) in the April to June quarter compared to last years $5.4bn profit.

Children in London can 'take heart' with news today that a leading hospital has won its high court battle over a consultation exercise that led to proposals to close down its children's heart surgery unit. The Royal Brompton in Chelsea said its future would be in doubt if the closure were to proceed as suggested.
