Chris Denning Charged With 41 Sex Offences

Former Radio One DJ Chris Denning is to be charged with 41 sex offences.

Prosecuters said the offences relate to attacks on boys aged nine to 16.

Denning is accused of 34 counts of indecent assault, on 22 victims between 1967 and 1985, according to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).

Baljit Ubhey, Chief Crown Prosecutor for CPS London, said: "We have concluded that there is sufficient evidence and it is in the public interest for Mr Denning to be charged with 41 offences, including 34 counts of indecent assault.

"These date from between 1967 and 1985, and relate to 22 male complainants aged between nine and 16 at the time of the alleged offending."

Max Clifford Pleads Not Guilty To Charges
PR consultant Max Clifford has pleaded not guilty to 11 counts of indecent assault. The 70-year-old appeared at Southwark Crown Court this morning. He faces charges relating to seven alleged victims, between the ages of 14 and 19, between 1966 and 1985. Speaking outside the court, Clifford said he was "totally innocent" of the allegations.

Gary Glitter Denies Sex Offences Charges
Gary Glitter has denied 10 charges of sex offences against three girls in the 1970s and early 80s. Glitter, whose real name is Paul Gadd, pleaded not guilty at Southwark Crown Court in London. It is understood the charges include six counts of indecent assault and one charge of unlawful intercourse.

74-Year-Old Man Charged In London Slavery Case
A 74-year-old man has been charged with false imprisonment, rape and child cruelty in London. Police said that Aravindan Balakrishnan, who was arrested in November 2013, has now been charged with four counts of rape, 19 counts of indecent assault and one of cruelty to a person under 16. It is understood that the offences relate to three women.

Former Bishop To Be Prosecuted Over Alleged Sex Offences
A former bishop is to be prosecuted for alleged sex offences. The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said it was in the public interest to prosecute Rt Reverend Peter Ball, a former bishop of Gloucester and former bishop of Lewes.

Coronation Street Actors Deny Rape Charges
William Roache, the actor who plays Coronation Street's Ken Barlow, has pleaded not guilty to charges of rape and indecent assault. The 81-year-old, of Wilmslow, Cheshire, entered the plea on two counts of rape of a 15-year-old girl, dating to 1967, and five counts of indecent assault involving four girls in Manchester between 1965 and 1968.
