Committee Calls For Five Fold Increase In Cycling Infrastructure Spending
The Transport Select Committee has called for a five-fold increase in spending on cycling infrastructure.
The group of MPs have called for investment in the cycling infrastructure to increase from an estimated £2 per person, to £10, over the next six years.
It has also called for a "cultural change", to improve relations between drivers and cyclists.
The committee has concluded a review of road safety for cyclists, which found complaints of aggressive driving, poorly-designed junctions and a failure to enforce speed limits.
"Transport ministers must demonstrate clear political leadership by championing cycling and the Department for Transport must coordinate action across government on this vital agenda." Committee chairwoman and Labour MP Louise Ellman said.

Body Of British Man Found On French Beach
French authorities have reported they have recovered the body of a British man on the coast of Cote d'Azur. It is believed the man was found washed up on a beach near the village of Eze on Saturday (28 March). Officials said the man was wearing cycling clothing and a bike was found near the scene.

£77m Cycling Campaign Announced
David Cameron has announced a new £77m campaign to encourage cycling in cities and national parks across England. The funding will be divided between Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, Newcastle, Bristol, Cambridge, Oxford and Norwich. New Forest, Peak District, South Downs and Dartmoor will each share a slice of £17m funding for national parks.
