Pensioner Attacked By Police Dog Dies
A 73-year-old woman has died after being attacked by a police dog as her home was being searched in Middlesborough.
Irene Collins was bitten by the dog last Wednesday and passed away in James Cook University Hospital over the weekend.
The police dog has been withdrawn from operational policing activities.
Assistant Chief Constable Sean White from Cleveland Police said: "Our thoughts are with family members, relatives and friends who will be distraught at this sad news. Members of Cleveland Police share the grief that is felt and we all wish to express our sincerest condolences to the family.
"The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) has been updated and will make a decision on how the incident should be investigated. We are providing the highest level of co-operation to the IPCC and seeking to support the family where it is possible to do so."

Teenager charged over Jodi Jones murder
A 15-year-old youth has been arrested and charged in connection with the murder of Jodi Jones in Dalkeith last June. The teenager was arrested this morning by officers from the Lothian and Borders constabulary. The accused is expected to appear before Edinburgh Sheriff Court tomorrow.

Dyfed-Powys Police have seized a family dog in South Wales after the death of a six-day-old-baby-girl. Officers were called to the property in Pontyberem, Carmarthenshire at around 8:30 on Tuesday. The animal, an Alaskan Malamute, is similar to a husky and is not a banned bread.

Week Old Baby Dies After Dog Bite
A week-old baby boy has died after being bitten by his family's pet dog, police have confirmed. West Mercia Police said the incident on Tuesday morning appeared to be "a tragic accident" and the Jack Russell has since been destroyed. A spokesman said the emergency services were called to an address in Woodside Road, Ketley, just before 08:00.

Five Family Members Arrested By Anti-Terrorism Police
Five people have been arrested as part of an investigation by the Met's Counter Terrorism Command (SO15). SO15 made the arrests in the early hours of today (Wednesday) at an address in east London. It is understood that the suspects are all members of the same family – a 51-year-old man, a 53-year-old woman and three females, aged 16, 17 and 19.
