Recycling Plant Jobs At Risk
A total of 99 jobs could be lost at a recycling plant in Newport, pending the outcome of a review.
It is understood that the Sims Group is consulting over a proposal to close Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment unit at South Dock in Newport.
The 45 day consultation period is understood to have begun on 10 July.
70 New Jobs To Be Created In Wrexham
Seventy new jobs are to be created in Wrexham by special finance firm Avox.
The company, which specialises in information to financial institutions, announced the jobs to coincide with a visit by Economy Minister Edwina Hart.
The Welsh government's Wales Economic Growth Fund is contributing £160,000 to the company at Redwither Business Park.
Ms Hart, who is visiting the site on Tuesday, said the investment would "ensure that a high percentage of those new jobs will be created in Wrexham within a matter of months rather than years, providing an immediate boost for the local economy in terms of jobs and salaries".
Avox is a subsidiary of New York-based Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC), and provides specialist information for financial institutions to help them meet industry regulations.
BTP Issue Appeal Following Mass Brawl On Train
An appeal has been issued for witnesses to a mass brawl on a train in South Lanarkshire
British Transport Police (BTP) say that they have received reports of a fight between a group of approximately 30 people on a stopped at Blantyre station on Saturday night.
The incident took place on the fourth coach of the 21:58 Glasgow Central to Larkhall service just after 22:10.
CCTV images are being reviewed in a bid to identify those involved. Anyone with information is asked to contact BTP.

The company is to invest £65 million in a new manufacturing facility next to its current plant at Wrexham Industrial Estate. The investment is being supported by the Welsh government.

Sky News Cameraman Killed In Egypt
A Sky news cameraman has been shot and killed while covering the ongoing violence in Cairo, Egypt. The broadcaster confirmed the death of 61-year-old Mick Deane on Wednesday. Mr Dean had worked for Sky for 15 years. In a statement, Head of Sky News, John Ryley, paid tribute to an "experienced journalist" and a "much-loved colleague".
