15-Year-Old Arrested After 60 Dogs Killed In Fire
At least 60 dogs have been killed in a fire at a dogs home in Manchester, which is believed to have been started deliberately.
A 15-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of arson after a fire was started at Manchester Dogs' Home in Moss Brook Road, Harpurhey, on Thursday.
Firefighters managed to save around 150 dogs from the fire, but the animal death toll is expected to rise.
A JustGiving appeal, set up by the Manchester Evening News, has received almost 41,000 donations and raised almost £410,000 at the time of writing.

Heroic Tyne Firemen Honoured
Two Tyne and Wear firefighters are to be recognised for their bravery at a special ceremony today. Andrew Nelson and Allan Richardson will be presented with the Chief Fire Officer's Commendations for brave and meritorious conduct after saving a man's life. The men took part in a dramatic rescue in the early hours of 4 February.

Owners To Face Longer Sentences Over Dog Attacks
Irresponsible dog owners who allow their dog to attack people or assistance dogs will face tougher prison sentences from today, Tuesday. Changes to the Dangerous Dogs Act will also mean dog owners can now face prosecution if their dog attacks a person in their home or on any private property, except if they attack a trespasser.
