Barclays Fined £38m By FCA
The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has issued a fine of £38 million against Barclays Bank over a failure to keep its customers money separate to its own.
It is the second time the bank has been fined for similar issues, paying out £1.1 million in 2011.
The bank's investment arm is said to have put £16.5bn of clients' money at risk between November 2007 and January 2012, according to the FCA.

Lloyds Banking Group has been fined a record £28m for "serious failings" in relation to its bonus schemes for sales staff. The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), which issued the fine, said it is the largest fine it or the former Financial Services Authority (FSA) had imposed for retail conduct failings.

Barclays Bank has been fined over £26m by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) after an employee was discovered attempting to manipulate the price of gold. The FCA said the bank failed to adequately manage conflicts of interest between itself and customers between 2004 and 2013.

Bank Of England Maintains Bank Rate At 0.5%
The Bank of England’s Monetary Policy Committee today voted to maintain the official Bank Rate paid on commercial bank reserves at 0.5%. The Committee also voted to maintain the stock of asset purchases financed by the issuance of central bank reserves at £200 billion. The previous change in Bank Rate was a reduction of 0.5 percentage points to 0.

British Woman Jailed For 14 Years In Indonesia
A 43-year-old British woman has been jailed for 14 years in Indonesia after being found guilty of smuggling crystal methamphetamine. Andrea Waldeck, from Gloucestershire, was arrested at a hotel in East Java in April 2013. Facing a possible death sentence, Waldeck claimed that she had been the "victim" of a drugs gang.
