Man Injured In 'Paramiltary Style' Shooting In L'Derry

A man has been shot in a "paramilitary style" shooting in the Corrib Court area of L'Derry.

Detectives are appealing for information following the attack, which occurred on the evening of Saturday 1 November.

At about 23:40, police received a report that a 42-year-old man had been shot in the left leg by a man described as being approximately 6ft tall and wearing a balaclava and dark clothing.

]The man was taken to hospital for treatment to his injury, which is not believed to be life threatening.

Anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the area around 23:00 is asked to contact CID in Strand Road Police Station on the non emergency number 101.

A 25-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting in Garston, Liverpool on Tuesday night. University gunman was 'disturbed loner'
The gunman who shot dead 32 people at a US college has been described as a loner, whose college work was "disturbing". Cho Seung-Hui, a 23-year-old from South Korea, who had been resident in the US since 1992, was an English student at Virginia Tech who lived on campus.
