Welsh Hostel Murder Contained 'Act Of Cannibalism'
Police investigating the murder of a woman at a hostel for homeless people in Wales, have said the crime contained an "act of cannibalism".
Police were called to the former Sirhowy Arms Hotel in Argoed, Blackwood, just before 01:30am on Thursday to reports that a man was attacking a woman.
When police arrived they found 34-year-old Matthew Williams attacking a woman, said to be aged 22.
According to reports, when police arrived Williams was eating the woman's eyeball, and had attacked her face. The female victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say that while attempting to restrain Mr Williams, a Taser was deployed and an arrest made. However, Mr Williams later became "unresponsive", and police say that despite attempts to revive him, he died at the scene.
The incident has been reported to Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC).
Mr Williams is understood to be from the local area and was staying at the hostel having been released from prison two weeks earlier.

Major Police Hunt Launched After Boy Taken From Hospital
A major police hunt has begun after a five-year-old boy with a brain tumour, was taken by his family without consent from Southampton General Hospital. Police said that Ashya King was taken from the hospital by Brett King, 51, and Naghemeh King, 45, on Thursday. It is thought he may have been taken to France.

Kent Police, in partnership with officers from the Metropolitan Police Service, have arrested two men in East London on suspicion of conspiracy to commit armed robbery. On 3 May, Kent Police began a search for Michael Wheatley, 55, who had failed to return to HMP Standford Hill after being released on temporary licence.
