Planning Permission Granted For Town Centre Redevelopment
Warrington Borough Council (WBC) has granted planning permission for a £52 million redevelopment of the town centre.
Around 400 jobs will be created as part of the Bridge Street Quarter regeneration project, which includes a new £10m market hall, a multiplex cinema, a new council office and a public space.
The approval of the redevelopment has been described as a "momentous decision" by council leader Terry O'Neill.
Work is due to begin next year and is expected to be completed by 2019.

BBC hits staff ethnicity targets
The BBC has announced that it has met and slightly exceeded the target set in 2000 to have 10% ethnic minority staff by the end of 2003. As a result nearly 650 more people from ethnic minority backgrounds now work at the BBC compared with four years ago.

Earls Court Redevelopment Plans Approved
The demolition of the Earls Court Exhibition Centre and two neighbouring estates has been approved by the Mayor. The demolition is part of a 77-acre redevelopment of Earls Court and West Kensington, which will see the creation of four "villages" alongside a "high street".
