Magnitude 3.8 Earthquake Recorded In West Midlands
A 3.8 magnitude earthquake has been recorded in Oakham, Rutland, in the west Midlands, the British Geological Survey has reported.
The earthquake was recorded at precisely 22:25:54 on Wednesday night and occurred at a depth of 8km.
The BGS said it had received 1,400 reports so far from people who felt the Oakham earthquake, including residents from as far away as Dudley and Huddersfield.
The Rutland earthquake follows a 2.9 magnitude earthquake was recorded in Hampshire on Tuesday.

4.2 Magnitude Quake Recorded In Kent
A 4.2 magnitude earthquake has been recorded in Kent, the British Geological Survey (BGS) has confirmed. The tremor occurred at 2.52am on Friday. It is understood the epicentre was approximately 7km south of Ramsgate at a depth of 15km underground.

Small Earthquake Hits North Wales
A small earthquake, measuring 2.8 in magnitude has hit north Wales. The quake was reported late on Wednesday night, just before 11.30pm, the British Geological Survey (BGS) has said. The epicentre of the quake was located on the Lleyn peninsula, Gwynedd, but was felt throughout the north Gwynedd region.

A small earthquake in Cumbria has been confirmed by the British Geological Survey (BGS). The 2.1-magnitude quake struck in Patterdale at 21:37 GMT on Wednesday, scientists report. The UK experiences about 20 earthquakes a year of a similar magnitude, the majority of which occur along the west coast.

Hundreds reported dead in Iran earthquake
An earthquake in Iran is reported to have killed at least 400 people and left hundreds more injured. The earthquake occurred around 35 miles from Zarand in the country's Kerman province, around 460 miles from the Iranian capital, Tehran just before 6am local time this morning (2:30am GMT). It measured 6.4 on the Richter scale.

Eight images out of ten supplied to the police from closed-circuit television do not help to identify criminals, according to a Home Office report. The report also says that the majority of cameras are not placed where they can help to detect or prevent serious crimes or terrorist attacks.
