200 New Jobs Created By Engineering Firm
Two hundred new jobs are to be created as part of a £2 million investment by engineering firm, Universal Engineering in Rhondda Cynon Taf.
The company, which makes components for the off-shore oil and gas, car, defence and aerospace industries, is setting up a centre of excellence in Llantrisant.
Welsh Economy Minister Edwina Hart announced the investment during a visit to the company.

Over 300 Jobs At Risk As Engineering Firm Considers Closure
More than three hundred jobs are at risk following the announcement that engineering firm Mabey Bridge is considering closing one of its facilities and selling another. The company announced it has begun a consultation on the proposed closure of part of its business in Station Road, Chepstow, affecting 150 people.

Poundland To Get LSE Floatation
The high street discount store Poundland is to float on the London Stock Exchange. It is understood that shares in the company are to be offered to institutional investors but it is not yet known how much Poundland hope to make in the sale.

430 Jobs Lost At Rowecord Engineering
Administrators appointed to Wales' largest steel contractor, Rowecord Engineering, has confirmed around 430 people are to lose their jobs. However, it is understood around 80 people will be kept on at Newport-based Rowecord Engineering, the BBC has said. The company said it had "exhausted every option" to try and keep the business operating.

Formula 1 Flywheel Technology To Be Trialed On London Buses
A fuel-saving device developed for Formula One is to be fitted to six prototype buses. With estimated fuel savings of up to 30% the flywheel was developed by Williams F1, for use in its racing cars but after a regulation change in the sport it could no longer be used. Now the technology is to be retrofitted to a small test number of London buses.
