'Security Specialists' Remove Tree-Top Protesters
A group of tree-top protesters, who have been living in trees at Stapleton Allotments for over a month, are to be removed today.
Bristol City Council said that a number of "security specialists" began evicting members of the Rising Up group at about 07:40 on Thursday morning.
The protesters are opposed to a planned new bus route, with some living in the trees for up to 40 days.
It is understood a number of protesters said that while they offer no resistance, they will not "walk off site".

A 56ft wind turbine blade has been used by anti-fracking protesters to block access to a shale gas test drilling site. The turbine blade was placed outside the Barton Moss site in Salford at around 05:30, in what has been described as a "symbolic action".
