Man Pleads Guilty To Rape And GBH
A 35-year-old man has pleaded guilty to charges of rape and grievous bodily harm at Isleworth Crown Court.
Lakhvinder Singh, of Hayes, Middlesex, was sentenced to 8 years in jail for the rape and assault of a female victim, praised by police for reporting the incidents.
Singh was arrested in November last year, when his victim reported him to police after being attacked on two separate occasions.
Detective Inspector Stephen O'Connor said: "We pay immense tribute to the victim who stood up to Singh by supporting the police investigation and bravely recounting a violent and frightening association with a man who she trusted at the time.
"This positive outcome is testimony to our commitment to relentlessly pursuing violent offenders responsible for abuse, whatever the circumstances are.
"We have a dedicated and experienced team of officers who offer the highest level of support, respect and confidence to victims of domestic abuse. Together with our partners we will continue to make Hillingdon the most hostile environment for perpetrators and will make every effort bring them before the courts at every opportunity."

A man has been jailed for 12 years for a stranger rape and burglary dating back nearly 22 years. Milton White, 46 years (22.2.66), of Ellison House, Albany Road SE5 attacked the 60-year-old victim in her own home, after breaking into the north London property in the early hours of 14 May 1990.
