14 Arrested In GMP Drugs Raids
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) have carried out a series drug raids in the early hours of Thursday morning.
Fifteen addresses were raided just after 05:30 this morning as part of Operation Plumbline, leading to the arrest of 10 men and 4 women on suspicion of supplying class A drugs.
GMP said the arrests follow months of investigations by officers from Oldham’s Organised Crime Team and Serious Crime Division into the distribution of Heroin and Crack Cocaine in the Oldham area.
Inspector Paul Walker of Oldham division, said: "This sends out a message to the Organised Crime Members from Oldham that we will never give up on our fight against this type of crime. Drugs cause widespread destruction to users and have a wider impact on the community.
"Communities have told us that they want drugs and drug dealing tackled across the borough and I hope that this continuous action highlights how seriously we take these crimes.
"This operation has taken months of intricate planning and dedication by a large team of officers from across the Force."
Police have appealed for anyone with any information to call 101, or contact Oldham Neighbourhood Policing Team directly about any issues related to crime or anti-social behaviour on 0161 856 8927.
