Warehouse Fire Investigated
An investigation has been launched into the cause of a fire at a warehouse in Deptford on Thursday.
London Fire Brigade were called to reports of a fire at an industrial unit at a business park on Trundleys Road.
Eight fire engines and 58 firefighters were on site at the height of the blaze.
Station Manager Keith Fearn who was at the scene said: "When crews arrived, they were faced with thick black smoke pouring from the building and drifting for about 75 metres. The smoke temporarily stopped services to nearby stations on the East London Line but they were resumed by 0630."
Anyone with any information relating to the fire is urged to contact police.

Heroic Tyne Firemen Honoured
Two Tyne and Wear firefighters are to be recognised for their bravery at a special ceremony today. Andrew Nelson and Allan Richardson will be presented with the Chief Fire Officer's Commendations for brave and meritorious conduct after saving a man's life. The men took part in a dramatic rescue in the early hours of 4 February.

Firefighters launch four-day strike

Hundreds Evacuated From London Skyscraper After Fire Alert
Nearly 900 people have been evacuated from London skyscraper The Shard, the tallest in Western Europe, after smoke was discovered in the basement at 10:30. Seven fire engines and 50 firefighters were dispatched to the 1,004 ft-high building following reports of smoke at the London landmark.
