Princess Charlotte Baptised In Sandringham

Princess Charlotte has been christened at a private ceremony at the Church of St Mary Magdalene in Sandringham.

The ceremony took place on Sunday and was attended by just 21 guests.

Charlotte, who is nine-weeks-old, was pushed to her christening by the Duchess of Cambridge in a vintage pram the Queen used for two of her own children. Prince William and the couple's son, Prince George, walked alongside.

Those who attended the service include the Cambridges, the Queen and Prince Philip, Charles and Camilla, the Middletons; and Princess Charlotte's five godparents – four of whom were accompanied by their spouses. The christening lasted around 30 minutes before the family departed for Sandringham House.

Investigation Launched After Man Murdered In Essex

Essex Police has launched a murder investigation into the death of a man in his 50s.

At around 9.30pm on Sunday (5 July), police received reports that a man had been found collapsed in the kitchen of a property in Beedell Avenue, Westcliff. It is understood he was stabbed.

Two men, aged 30 and 46, and both from Westcliff, have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Armed Police Sent To Incident In Aberdare

Armed officers from South Wales Police have been dispatched to an "incident" in Aberdare.

It is understood that officers are responding to reports of threats being made with a firearm.

South Wales Police confirmed that an incident was ongoing, but said that armed officers have been sent as "a precaution".

Investigation continues as armed officers shoot man dead

Queen unveils National Police Memorial
The Queen has unveiled a National Police Memorial in tribute to British police officers killed in the line of duty. The £2.3 million project includes a large black wall with a glass cabinet displaying a book which names 1,600 police officers who have died in the line of duty.

Release Of Police Killer Described As 'Sickening'
The release of a man convicted of killing three unarmed police officers in 1966 has been described as "sickening". Harry Roberts, now aged 78, has been released from prison after serving 48 years for 1966 murders of three unarmed police officers in Shepherd's Bush in west London.
