Bomb Threat At Inverness School Declared A Hoax
Police in Scotland have confirmed that an earlier bomb threat, directed towards Charleston Academy in Inverness, was a hoax.
At around 9.15am on Monday, 9 November, police received a report regarding a bomb threat. The school was evacuated to allow investigations to be carried out. Shortly afterwards, it was confirmed that the call was not genuine, and was confirmed as a hoax.
Staff and pupils were allowed to return to the school at 10.19am.
Inquiries are ongoing.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101.
Costal Defence Scheme Opened In Rhyl
Natural Resources Minister Carl Sargeant today visited Rhyl, Denbighshire, Wales, to officially open the West Rhyl Coastal Defence Scheme. The project aims to reduce coastal flooding risk to over 2,700 properties.
The final phase of the scheme included a new coastal revetment and wave walls to protect homes and businesses in the town. A new, widened promenade also provides new amenity space for those visiting the beach, helping to further regenerate the area.
The total cost of the coastal works is just over £15m, with more than £10m coming from the Welsh Government, £4.7m from the European Regional Development Fund and £520,000 from Denbighshire County Council.
Woman, 37, Missing From Hackney
Police have appealed for information into the whereabouts of Alicja Stawkowski, who has been reported missing.
Ms Stawkowski, 37, was last seen on Thursday 5 November, at 10am as she left her home. She has not returned. It is understood Alicja suffers from depression. Her family have said they are concerned for her welfare.
Alicja is described as white, of slim build, with long hair. She is 5ft 6ins in height and left home wearing a black baseball cap, black jacket and black trousers.
She is believed to have travelled to Cornwall.
Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call the police non-emergency line on 101.

Portuguese police are reportedly examining a copy of Madeleine McCann's mother's diary as they continue to investigate the four-year-old's disappearance. The BBC reported that police are examining a photocopy of Kate McCann's private diary, as well as a laptop belonging to her husband, Gerry.
