Man sought in double murder probe
North Yorkshire police have revealed the identity of the man they want to speak to in connection with the murder of two sisters in the Selby area on Sunday.
Police are looking for Mark Richard Hobson, 34, who lived at an address in Millfield Drive, Camblesforth, near Selby, where the bodies of the sisters were found.
Mr Hobson is described as white, 5’ 9” tall, slim build, with a shaven, balding head and with a two-inch scar above his left eye. When last seen he was wearing a coffee coloured jacket, white T-shirt and blue jeans.
Officers were called to an address in Millfield Drive at 8.09am on Sunday. A short time later the officers discovered the bodies of two women in an upstairs bedroom.
The BBC has reported that the victims were twin 27-year-old sisters, Claire and Diane Sanderson.
Speaking at a press conference yesterday, Detective Superintendent Javad Ali, Crime Commander for the force’s Central Area, and the officer heading the investigation, said that while a cause of death had yet to be established, "it is apparent that both women had been victims of a vicious assault".
Det Supt Ali warned that Mr Hobson may pose a risk to members of the public and people are strongly advised not to approach him.
If anyone knows of Mr Hobson's whereabouts they are asked to contact the Incident Room on 01904 669651 or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
