Teenage schoolboy convicted of murdering fellow pupil
A teenage schoolboy has been convicted of the murder of another pupil in Lincolnshire last November.
The 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was found guilty of killing Luke Walmsley at Birkbeck School in North Somercotes, Lincolnshire, on November 4. A post mortem revealed that Luke, 14, had died after being stabbed once through the heart.
The teenager will return to Nottingham Crown Court tomorrow for sentencing.
The jury rejected the teenager's defence that he had not intended to kill Luke, but had merely intended to use the knife to scare him.
