Teen in court over party stabbing

A 17-year-old girl has appeared in court charged with the murder of another teenage girl at a birthday party.

Fifteen-year-old Charlotte Polius was stabbed at the party in a house in Ilford, east London on Sunday night, following an argument, some reports have indicated. She was taken to hospital but died later.

There have been reports that people had gatecrashed the party, which was a sixteenth birthday party.

The 17-year-old, from Brentwood Essex was remanded in custody until April 19 at Redbridge Youth Court. There was no application for bail.

The parents of the girl, who cannot be named because of her age, were reportedly in court for the hearing, along with Charlotte's grandfather.

Charlotte lived in Stratford, east London with her mother Mary, stepfather Paul, ten-year-old brother Dion and three-year-old stepsister Priscilla.

Woman Charged With Murdering Baby
A woman has been charged with the murder of 10-month-old Chloe Sutherland, it has been reported. A 35-year-old woman, said to be the little girl's mother, made no plea or declaration during an appearance at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today. She has been remanded in custody.

A convicted paedophile who abducted a three-year-old girl from her home and sexually assaulted her has been jailed for life. Craig Sweeney, 24, admitted kidnapping the three-year-old from her home in Cardiff on January 2, 2006.
