Man questioned over Northampton rapes
Police investigating a series of rapes and attempted abductions in Northampton have arrested a man.
Detectives arrested a 39-year-old Northampton man on Saturday night in connection with the attacks, which took place July 31 and August 8.
The attacks all occurred in the early hours of the morning on women who were out walking alone in Northampton.
Police working on the investigation, code-named Operation Harbour, said that there had been an “excellent” response to an appeal for information last week.
Three men who were arrested earlier this month in connection with the attacks have been released on bail, pending further investigation.

More than 80 firefighters were needed to tackle a blaze at the former Crispin Psychiatric Hopital on Berrywood Road on 6 August. Two men aged 23 and one aged 20 have been arrested on suspicion of arson.

Police investigating a series of rapes in Northampton have released artists’ impressions of five men that they wish to talk in connection with the attacks. The men are believed to be responsible for a number of attacks on women in the Northampton are between August 1 and 8.

A man has been arrested in connection with eight sexual attacks within three weeks in south London. The 34-year-old man from Lambeth has been detained in custody, according to the Metropolitan Police. The attacks targeted lone women late at night. The victims were aged in their 20s and 30s.

Eight Men Arrested Following Dawn Raids
Over 100 police officers have carried out a series of raids concerning child sexual exploitation offences in Oxford. Eight men were arrested following the raids at 6am this morning 2 June. Police are investigating approximately 60 offences in connection with the operation relating to female victims in Oxford between 1999 and 2007.
