Walker murder trial begins
Two men have pleaded not guilty to the murder of Liverpool teenager Anthony Walker.
Michael Barton, 17, and Paul Taylor, 20, both from Huyton, Merseyside, appeared at Preston Crown Court on Monday, charged with the 18-year-old’s murder.
The pair, who have also been charged with conspiracy to cause grievous bodily harm to Anthony and his cousin, have denied all charges.
The trial is due to continue at Liverpool Crown Court on Tuesday.
Anthony died after being attacked with an axe in McGoldrick Park in Huyton in July.
Three other people appeared in court last week charged in connection with the murder. Paul John Morson, 25, from Huyton, was charged with perverting the course of justice and Robert Williams, 31, and Tracy Ann Garner, 34, both from Kirkdale, were charged with conspiring to assist an offender.
All three were released on bail and are due to reappear before Liverpool Crown Court on March 8.

Police have confirmed that an eighth man has been arrested in connection with the murder of teenager Anthony Walker. Merseyside Police confirmed that a 20-year-old man from Huyton, Liverpool, was arrested on Tuesday morning. Two men appeared in court on Tuesday, charged with Anthony’s murder.

Gunman's Ashes Scattered Near Rothbury
The ashes of 'fugitive' gunman Raoul Moat have been scattered by his family near the spot where he took his own life. Moat died on July 10 in Rothbury following a six-hour stand-off with police. He had been on the run after shooting his former girlfriend, killing her new boyfriend and shooting a police officer.

Gunman 'Makes Threats To The Public'
Police hunting for a fugitive gunman who is alleged to have shot three people in Northumbria have revealed that he has now made threats to members of the public. Raoul Moat, 37, has been on the run since the weekend shootings, which left his girlfriend injured, her new boyfriend dead and a police officer injured.
