Man pleads guilty to Anthony Walker murder
One of the men accused of murdering teenager Anthony Walker has pleaded guilty at Liverpool Crown Court.
Paul Taylor, 20, had originally denied murdering the 18-year-old A-Level student, who died after being attacked with an axe in the Huyton area of Merseyside in July.
Taylor, who is from Huyton, changed his plea shortly after the trial opened at Liverpool Crown Court on Tuesday.
His co-defendant Michael Barton, 17, pleaded not guilty to Anthony’s murder. The teenager, who is also from Huyton, also denied charges of conspiracy to cause grievous bodily harm.
Anthony was attacked as he walked with his girlfriend and his cousin, Marcus Binns, in McGoldrick Park in Huyton.
Mr Barton’s trial has now been adjourned until Wednesday morning.
