Man in court over 1995 murder
A man is due to appear in court charged in connection with the murder of a man more than 11 years ago.
The body of Robert Higgins was found in Craigs Quarry, Milrig Farm in Kirkliston, West Lothian on May 1, 1995. He had been stabbed to death. The 35-year-old chicken factory worker had left his home in Dalmeny, near Edinburgh, which he shared with his mother, four days earlier.
The case remained unsolved for more than ten years until Lothian and Borders police reopened the investigation in January this year.
On Wednesday night, police confirmed that a 33-year-old man had been arrested in connection with the murder.
He is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Thursday.

A 25-year-old man has been found guilty of the attempted murder of his fiancee. Marcin Kasprzak, of Penistone Road, Huddersfield, has been sentenced at Leeds Crown Court to 20 years in prison. On 28 May 2011 Kasprzak attacked bride-to-be Michelina Lewandowska, 27, at their home with a taser then bound, gagged and placed her in a cardboard box.

Following the arrest on Sunday morning of double murder suspect James Allen police have appealed for people to check on any friends and relatives who could have come into contact him. Detectives made the appeal after 36-year-old Allen was arrested early on Sunday after being spotted by an off-duty officer on his way to work in Leeds.

Suspected London bomber to be returned to UK
A British man wanted for questioning in connection with the failed London bomb attacks on July 21 is to be extradited to the UK within 35 days, an Italian court has ruled. Osman Hussein (27) will appeal the decision to the Italian Supreme court, according to his lawyers.
