Police granted more time to quiz terror suspects

West Yorkshire Police have been granted more time to question two people arrested under the Terrorism Act last week.

A 21-year-old man, who was arrested at Manchester Airport, and a 16-year-old boy from Dewsbury are being held by police, reportedly over an alleged terror plot in Canada.

Several properties in Bradford, in Hanover Square, Manningham and Otley Road, were searched as part of the investigation. An internet cafe in Bradford was also searched.

The man arrested at Manchester Airport is reported to be of Pakistani origin.

West Yorkshire Police said that the operation to arrest him involved both MI5 and the Metropolitan Police, but said that no armed officers were involved.
