Convicted criminal sought after fleeing hospital
A convicted criminal who escaped from a hospital in Greater Manchester is being sought by police.
Christopher McDonagh, 19, from Cheetham Hill, was serving a life sentence for attempted murder at a secure unit at Prestwich Hospital when he was taken to Hope Hospital Accident and Emergency to receive treatment to a wound on his arm.
However, as he was leaving the hospital at around 7.20pm, McDonagh escaped and was last seen by staff running onto Eccles Old Road.
McDonagh is described as a white man, approximately 5ft 7in tall and of medium build with black shaven hair and brown eyes.
He was last seen wearing a navy blue woollen hat, black woollen jumper, blue tracksuit bottoms and white and blue Nike trainers.
Greater Manchester Police said that they believed that McDonagh may be a danger to himself and to others, but are advising any members of the public who see him not to approach him, but to contact police immediately.

Police Scotland have appealed for help in tracing a man missing from a Glasgow hospital. Iain McHarg, 58, is a patient at Leverndale Hospital in the Pollok area and was last seen at 1330 hours on Tuesday 11 August 2015. He is described as 6'2", heavy build, bald with short grey hair at the sides and stubble.
