Suicide bombers attack troops in Afghanistan
Two NATO soldiers and several Afghans have been killed following suicide bomb attacks in southern Afghanistan, according to the Ministry of Defence.
Several British soldiers and civilians have reportedly been injured when a bomber threw himself at a NATO vehicle close to the governor's compound, in Lashkar Gah, the capital of Helmand province.
Witnesses have said a number of bodies were scattered on the ground and a British vehicle was on fire.
One person has been killed and four injured in a separate attack in the town, after a suicide bomber targeted a British aid groups vehicle.
A spokeswoman for the MoD said: "We can confirm that a small number of UK soldiers have been injured in an explosion in Lashkar Gah.
"There are no reports of British fatalities."
Similar incidents have been reported in the last year between insurgents and NATO and Afghan forces in Helmand region, which was previously one of the safer places in the area.
