Queen cancels trip to Arsenal
The Queen has cancelled a trip to Arsenal's multi-million new stadium following a back injury.
The 80-year-old had been due to meet Arsenal staff as the Duke of Edinburgh performed the opening ceremony.
However, Buckingham Palace said that the trip to the new Emirates ground in London had been called off on medical advice, but that some engagements at the Palace would go ahead as planned.
The Queen is due to meet two ambassadors at Buckingham Palace today.
In a statement a spokesperson for the Palace said that the strained muscle, sustained at the end of a stay at Balmoral two weeks ago, prior to a trip to the Baltic states, had not improved.
Progress will be reviewed on a daily basis and it is not clear if tomorrow's trip to Newmarket for a lunch with stewards at the Jockey Club will go ahead.
