Five men have been arrested under the Terrorism Act in a series of anti-terror raids in West Yorkshire and Manchester.
Two men, aged 29 and 25, were arrested in dawn raids in Halifax, carried out by officers from the Metropolitan Police Counter Terrorism Command and West Yorkshire Police.
Officers are now searching four addresses in Halifax and another address in North London.
The two men have been taken to a central London police station where they are due to be questioned later.
In a statement, West Yorkshire Police said: "Officers will regularly meet with people within the local community to keep them informed regarding this enquiry.
"High visibility police will continue to patrol the local area to offer support and reassurance in each of the areas affected."
Meanwhile, in a separate operation, officers from Greater Manchester Police's Anti Terrorist Unit arrested three men following a series of raids at four addresses in Manchester.
Two 24-year-old men were arrested at an address in Cheetham Hill, while a 32-year-old man was arrested in Longsight.
Greater Manchester Police said that three of the addresses targeted in the raid are being searched under the Terrorism Act. They said that the operation was in connection with an investigation concerning suspected terrorist support and facilitation and that there was no intelligence of any planned terrorist activity in the UK at this stage.
