Police granted more time in baby death case
Police investigating the suspected murder of a 17-month-old baby have been granted more time to continue questioning four suspects.
Hugo Wang was taken to Manchester Royal Infirmary on Thursday evening, suffering from serious head injuries. He was later transferred to the children's hospital but died on Friday evening.
A post-mortem confirmed that he died from a head injury.
Two men, aged 28 and 38, and two women, aged 27 and 28, were arrested at an address in Lower Broughton in Salford four hours after Hugo was admitted to hospital.
All four remain in custody and are now being held on suspicion of murder. Police can now continue to question them until Monday evening.
It is believed that none of the four are Hugo's parents and their exact relationship to the child is still unknown.

A police dog that attacked a 73-year-old woman who later died is to be put down, Cleveland Police have said. Irene Collins died in hospital four days after being attacked by the police dog in her garden as officers searched for a burglar on 16th July.

A 10-year-old is being treated in hospital for serious head injuries after he was in collision with a taxi in Swansea. South Wales Police are appealing for witnesses following the incident at 8.45pm last night immediately outside the Mosque in St Helen's Road, Swansea. A white Vauxhall Vectra taxi was involved.
