Girl's relatives found guilty in honour killing
A father has been found guilty in what is described as an "honour killing" of his daughter.
Mahmod Mahmod, 52, the girl's father and Ari Mahmod, 50, her uncle, from Mitcham in south London were found guilty of the murder of Banaz Mahmod aged 20.
A third man Darbad Mares-Rasull was found not guilty of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.
Ms Mahmod's body was found stuffed into a suitcase which had been buried in a Birmingham garden.
Mohamad Hama, 30, had pleaded guilty to the murder.
Her family had ordered the killing after she had fallen in love with a man that her father did not wish her to marry.
During the trial it emerged that Ms Mahmod, who had disappeared on January 24, 2006, had made several calls to police and had even named those who she though might kill her.
Scotland Yard has directed an investigation of the conduct of officers concerned in the allegations made by Ms Mahmod as part of an internal review of the case.
